Do you enjoy the magic of the stage with a good play? Then you’ll be delighted to know that DramaFest is coming for the first time to Monterrey, a fascinating festival that brings for seven days premieres of incredible stagings, dramatized readings, workshops and more.

In addition to a wonderful lineup, the event will have Poland as guest country, so this is not only a good opportunity to discover new theatrical proposals, but also to learn more about the performing arts in another corner of the world.


When and where will DramaFest be in Monterrey.

The festival that was born in 2004 and has had an impressive success in Mexico City lands for the first time in the Sultana del Norte from December 8 to 14 with an extensive program that will take place at the Teatro del Centro de las Artes and the Gran Sala del Teatro de la Ciudad.

With DramaFest in Monterrey comes stories never before seen in Mexico and incredible workshops for theater lovers. The best part? All activities are free.

In this edition to be held in our city, the guest country will be Poland. Thus, the public will be able to get to know the playwright vision of the European country.

Among the premieres that you cannot miss is the staging of “I’m sorry every day” (which will be on December 9 at 18:00 and 21:00 in the Experimental Hall of the Gran Teatro de la Ciudad ), a spectacular Polish play directed by Katarzyna Dudzic-Grabińska and Karolina Gorzkowska that tells the story of Miep Gies, the woman who hid Anne Frank in times of war.

In addition, there will be premiere performance of “Arde todo mientras canta” on December 14 at 6:30 pm at the Teatro del Centro de las Artes, a magnificent Mexican play directed by Polish Norbert Rakowski.

There will also be dramatized readings for the public to get closer to new dramatic texts and two workshops for those interested in learning more about the performing arts.
