The Monterrey Ballet revives one of its most moving classics with a live orchestra, six performances and a spectacular gala.
The Monterrey Ballet celebrates 35 years of artistic excellence with the return of Giselle, one of the most beloved works in the world’s classical repertoire.
This fall season, the stage of the Teatro de la Ciudad is filled with emotion with a timeless story of love, betrayal and redemption, accompanied on three of its dates by the Monterrey Ballet Orchestra conducted by Felipe Tristán.
After a decade out of repertory, Giselle returns in its complete two-act version, with original choreography by Jules Perrot and Jean Coralli, libretto by Vernoy de Saint-Georges and music by Adolphe Adam.
This masterpiece tells the story of a young peasant girl deceived by a disguised nobleman, and how her tragic fate is transformed into forgiveness beyond death.
Performances will take place on September 26, 27 and 28, and October 3, 4 and 5. The first three dates will feature live music, offering an even more sublime experience. Tickets are now available from $400 to $1,300 pesos.
